PILAR FIRE RELIEF OPERATIONS

The residents of Maligaya Compound, Brgy. Pilar, Las Piñas were just starting their day when fire struck their area on February 22, 2024, engulfing no less than 30 houses. The first alarm was sounded just a few minutes after the fire broke out at around 8:25 AM, and after another five minutes, it went up to a second-alarm fire due to the massive blaze within the congested area. REJOICE CHILDREN’S HOME VISIT

NLCOM, a nonprofit organization committed to disaster response, relief, and community development, has established a unique partnership with Rejoice Children’s Home in Nasugbu, Batangas. Founded by Norwegian nationals, the children’s home is a sanctuary for abandoned and displaced Filipino children. Many of these children have been under their care since infancy and have grown into their teenage years.  Read more

HOPE IN TONDO: SUNDAY SCHOOL SIDEWALK & FEEDING FOR THE CHILDREN

Metro World Child Philippines, in partnership with NLCOM and Bynum Faith Foundation, is making a difference in the lives of children living in dire conditions in Tondo through its Sunday School Sidewalk program. The program provides nutritious meals to children every week, with the help of dedicated volunteers and generous sponsors. Read more

SUPPORTING FLOOD-AFFECTED COMMUNITIES: NLCOM’S DISASTER RESPONSE EFFORTS IN SAMAR ISLAND

Natural disasters can have a devastating impact on communities, especially those who are already vulnerable. In January 2023, Samar Island was hit with heavy rainfall, causing flooding that affected many families and their livelihoods. In response, New Life Community Care Foundation Inc. (NLCOM) sprang into action to help those affected by the disaster. Read more

REBUILD SURIGAO: NLCOM’S TYPHOON ODETTE RELIEF OPERATIONS

Surigao del Norte was one of the provinces in the Philippines that was severely hit by Typhoon Odette (RAI) in December 2021. The typhoon, which was as strong as Typhoon Yolanda (Haiyan) in 2013 and twice as strong as Typhoon Sendong in 2011, caused widespread damage across Visayas and Mindanao. Thousands of people were affected, with many losing their homes and livelihoods. Communication connectivity and power supply were unavailable in the storm-ravaged areas, along with the lack of food, water, and shelter. Read more

BRINGING HOPE AND AID TO BAYBAY, LEYTE AFTER TYPHOON AGATON: A STORY OF COMPASSION AND PARTNERSHIP

The devastation caused by the typhoon was overwhelming, with families losing their homes and loved ones. Survivors were left to cope with the trauma and pain of multiple deaths in their families. As an organization committed to helping those in need, NLCOM immediately responded to the urgent needs of the affected communities.

BASECO FIRE RESPONSE

Baseco, Manila is a community that is prone to fire incidents due to its congested and informal settlement. Unfortunately, on May 19, 2022, a fire broke out in the area, leaving 277 families homeless and in need of immediate assistance.

NLCOMmunity READY FOR ABRA

The earthquake that hit Northern Luzon on July 27, 2022, with Lagangilang, Abra at the epicenter, caused significant damage to homes and infrastructure. As a #CommunityReady organization, we were able to quickly respond to the disaster and reach out to the affected area, which is almost 500 kilometers away from Metro Manila.

RESCUE BUY FOR LINDOL LEMONS

In response to the Northern Luzon Earthquake in July 2022, our organization adopted the Lindol Lemons Rescue Buy campaign, initiated by Rural Rising, to help those affected, including Marshall, a farmer from Benguet whose house collapsed during the disaster. The campaign offered a special price of 100 pesos for 1 kilogram of lemons, and our congregation at New Life church in Alabang eagerly participated. Thanks to the support of our community and donors, we were able to raise 75,000 pesos in cash from the sale of 800 kilograms of lemons and donations.

NLCOMmunity READY FOR NUEVA ECIJA

In November 2022, the NLCOM Team embarked on a mission to Gabaldon, Nueva Ecija, to help families affected by the devastating triple impact of Typhoons Ulysses, Karding, and Paeng. The team was determined to make a difference and bring hope to those who had lost so much.
