Natural disasters can have a devastating impact on communities, especially those who are already vulnerable. In January 2023, Samar Island was hit with heavy rainfall, causing flooding that affected many families and their livelihoods. In response, New Life Community Care Foundation Inc. (NLCOM) sprang into action to help those affected by the disaster. 

Thanks to the unwavering support of our dedicated New Life pastors, compassionate volunteers, and the generous NLCOMmunity who continuously pledge their monthly support, NLCOM was able to swiftly distribute essential food packs to 260 families in various areas of Samar Island, including San Jose, Northern Samar, San Roque, Catubig, Hibubuliao, Gamay Northern Samar, Jipapad Eastern Samar, Borongan, and Eastern Samar. We made it a priority to reach as many affected communities as possible, ensuring that no one was left without assistance. 

We understand that access to food is crucial in times of crisis, and we were determined to ensure that those affected by the flood had the sustenance they needed. But our commitment goes beyond immediate relief. We recognize that the effects of such disasters can be long-lasting, impacting communities far beyond the initial event. That’s why at NLCOM, we are dedicated to supporting long-term recovery efforts and working hand in hand with local authorities, community leaders, and partner organizations to help rebuild and uplift the lives of those affected.
